Police search for missing man

POLICE are concerned for the welfare of a 75-year-old East Ballina man who was reported missing on Monday.

Gilbert Fulton was reported missing by a friend yesterday afternoon.

Richmond Local Area Command duty officer Inspector Matt Kehoe said the man left his keys, wallet and cash at home.

“We have concerns for his welfare as he was depressed,” he said.

“Police searched a number of areas yesterday and last night and continued today in and around East Ballina and ocean front.”

The Ballina Jet Boat Rescue are also assisting police in the search.

The elderly resident lives by himself at Sea Swallow Place.

Mr Fulton is described as 175cm tall, 75kg, of medium build with grey/white hair and a moustache.
