Police chase naked man on highway

POLICE have temporarily blocked the Pacific Highway near Nabiac to detain a naked man running down the side of the road.

It is understood police were called after the man aged in his 20s posed a threat to himself and passing traffic outside the town around 11.30am.

Responding officers were told the man is in an agitated state and it is understood a taser may have been used on the him, but the latest update from police is that he continues to evade officers running across lanes of traffic.

North and south-bound traffic have been stopped at 11.45am so an arrest can be made.
