Police surprised by 'wildlife' captured on night cameras
FOLLOWING reports a mountain lion was in the area, a Massachusetts police department set up night cameras.
But instead of capturing photos of a mountain lion, the two trail cameras captured something else - something truly bizarre.
The Gardner Police Department shared photos of what the cameras caught on their Facebook page.
"We are glad to report that over the time they were up we did not see a mountain lion," they said, along with photos of a skunk and other wildlife.
But then things got weird.
"We were however surprised by some of the images that the cameras did take."
Cue photos of a person dressed in an ape costume, wearing a gas mask and is that Santa?
"We now have another different concern. We are attempting to identify some of the wildlife and activity in these images."
But the police department thanked those responsible. They said finding the photos made their day.
"We would like to sincerely thank the persons responsible as it made our day when we pulled up what we expected to be hundreds of pictures of coyotes, foxes and raccoons. Thank you to the citizens who noticed the cameras. Your effort and sense of humor are greatly appreciated."
