Police appeal for help searching for missing man

POLICE are appealing for assistance from the public as they continue to search for a man missing from near Cabarita.

Clive Easton, 65, left his home in Bogangar, at 6.15am on Monday, November 2.

When he hadn't returned by 11am, his wife notified police from Tweed/Byron Local Area Command.

The man's vehicle, a white Volkswagen Transporter, was found unattended next to the Rous River on Dulguigan Road, Dulguigan.

Police searched for the man, but could not locate him.

Yesterday (Tuesday 3 November 2015), a full-scale land search took place, with police assisted by the SES, Surf Life Saving Australia, Volunteer Marine Rescue and the Westpac Life Saver Helicopter.

Police are continuing to search for Mr Easton, and are appealing for anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 160-170cm tall, balding, with grey hair and a grey goatee.

Mr Easton was last seen wearing a black coloured 'Peak' brand wetsuit and grey tracksuit pants.
