Cricket: Lennox Pirates to celebrate 35th anniversary

WITH the start of the cricket season only a few weeks away, the Lennox Head club is preparing to celebrate its 35th anniversary.

The club has grown from humble beginnings in 1980 when it fielded teams in Ballina District lower grades.

The Pirates now have a team in the Far North Coast LJ Hooker League and, along with Alstonville, are the biggest club in the association with teams in all senior and junior grades.

The Lennox Head Cricket Club 35-year reunion will be held at Club Lennox on Saturday, September 26, from 6pm.

The cost is $20, which includes light refreshments, entertainment and a collector's yearbook.

A match between past and present players is being arranged for the following day.

Inquiries about the re-union to Mark Duncan on 0411-339499 or Paul Everingham on 0407-133117.
