A FORMER head of Grain Producers Australia was named as a Katter's Australian Party candidate for a New South Wales Senate seat at the September election.
Bob Katter revealed Peter Miller was the latest in a string of Senate candidates for the burgeoning party.
Mr Miller said while he had represented grain growers in the past, he was not simply a "rural candidate".
He said he supported import tariffs in order to support the agriculture and manufacturing industries, in line with the party position.
Mr Miller said the free market ideology had not delivered a real free market to Australia, especially to the struggling small business sector.
