Pedestrian suffers injuries after being struck by car

A MAN was hit by a car as he walked along Hogbin Dr on Monday night.

A northbound Toyota Corolla struck the pedestrian near the intersection of Barcoo Crt around 7.30pm.

The force of the impact flung the man over the bonnet and into the windscreen.

The driver of the vehicle, a man aged in his 40s, was visibly shaken at the scene.

The pedestrian suffered facial, abdominal and leg injuries and was treated by paramedics.

Ambulance Media said he was taken to Coffs Harbour Hospital in a stable condition.

Police investigating the incident said the pedestrian and another man, who was walking on the roadway, were well affected by alcohol.
