PAULINE Hanson's office says its phone had been ringing non-stop in support of her Senate burqa stunt, in which she wore the religious garb into the chamber before dramatically ripping it off to make a point about terrorism security flaws.

So determined was One Nation to make its point that the burqa was a threat that the party considered sending someone else incognito into the Senate, to prove agencies never knew who was under the full covering. The move was ruled out.

But before she stunned her colleagues in the Red Chamber, Senator Hanson invited The Courier-Mail into her office to watch her don the burqa.

She struggled and groaned as she wrestled her small frame into the synthetic garment bought on eBay.
