AFTER a standing ovation from the crowd, Ipswich teenager Paris Morgan was unable to hide her tears of joy when she received four "yes" votes by celebrity judges on the reality television show Australia's Got Talent.

The 13-year-old St Augustine's College student stunned both the show's judges and audience with her spectacular rendition of the Italian song Nella Fantasia, which she performed on Sunday, September 8.

All four of the show's celebrity judges were blown away by her performance, with judge Geri Halliwell praising Paris by saying "you were singing from your soul, and that's what makes a star".

Fellow judges Dawn French, Timomatic and Kyle Sandilands were also quick to echo Halliwell's comments.

Dawn French described Paris as "completely charming" while Kyle Sandilands said he hoped to see the young star again.

"You're incredible," Mr Sandilands said.

"I don't know anything about that type of music, but I do know when it's done well, and it was beautifully done.

"Hopefully, I see you many, many more times."

Back at home, Paris's music teacher Helen Coleman, from Voce Bella Singing Studio, was also full of admiration for her young student.

Ms Coleman, who has been teaching Paris since she was seven, believes she will go a long way in her singing career.

"Paris has a great deal of natural talent, and a particularly lovely tonal quality and resonance to her voice," she said.

"For her age, she has very well established classical technique.

"Part of the secret of her success lies in the fact that she takes direction very well, and has an established and consistent daily practice routine."

In the days since performing on Australia's Got Talent, Ms Coleman has been hard at work with Paris, preparing songs in the hope that she will make the semi-finals.

She also travelled with Paris to Brisbane over the weekend where she competed in the Brisbane Eisteddfod, where she won the Junior Championship award.
