PAMELA Anderson is going from racy to racing.

The Canadian actress/model has launched a new motor racing team, known as Downforce1 by Pamela Anderson, that will compete in both the international GT Open class and the European Le Mans championship series.

The team will field an Aston Martin Vantage GTE, which is expected to be plastered with stickers for animal rights group PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), for which Anderson is a spokesperson.

While Anderson won't be seen behind the wheel of the car, reports claim she is considering launching a Nascar team as well.

It may seem strange for someone like Pamela Anderson to be a part of the racing scene, but as she told UK tabloid The Sun: "Fast cars and fast women go together."
