Stabbing horror: Children on street splattered with blood

CHILDREN were found walking a street, splattered with blood, after a horror double stabbing incident in Brisbane overnight.

The dead man was in his 30s, as was the second man.

Police went to a Brompton St home in Alexandra Hills just before midnight on Tuesday, after neighbours saw the children walking outside.

"Children walking around the street with blood on them -- the first responding police turned up to a horrific scene," Inspector Rob Graham told Nine's Today Show.

"Subsequently they went into the house and found two males, both with horrific injuries - one dead, one almost dead.

"You can just imagine what the kids and the ex-partner have been through."

Nine is reporting the man who was killed had just begun a relationship with a 37-year-old woman who lives in the home.

Police are expected to allege the killer is the woman's former husband.
