On your marks for the fun run

GET your running shoes ready - or your walking shoes.

The Ballina Lions eighth annual fun run-walk is on Sunday, June 9, starting from Ballina's Missingham Park near the amphitheatre.

Runners can take part in a 5km or 10km run, following a route which takes in Missingham Bridge, North Wall and Compton Dr.

There are various age categories for the runners.

The walkers can stroll the 5km route from Missingham Park.

It's been a popular event in previous years - even despite poor weather last year.

The fun run-walk this year is raising money for Lions childhood cancer research.

Marshalling will take place from 8am and the events will start at 9am.

Entry forms are available at:

The Athletes Foot, Ballina Fair;

Southern Cross Credit Union, Ballina Fair;

Soul Pattinson Chemist, River St, Ballina;

Ballina Newsagent, River St, Ballina.
