NSW police uncover more clues about missing person case
FRESH clues in the investigation into the mystery disappearance of a young NSW woman have led police to two Central Coast properties.
Leisl Smith, 23 has not been seen since she left her Wallarah home in her car on the afternoon of Sunday, August 19, last year.
Her car was found abandoned at a railway station the following Wednesday.
Detectives interviewed a 42-year-old man before searching one property in the street where Leisl lived and another at Brookfield.
A number of items were seized but at the time of going to press, police have found no trace of Leisl.
Tuggerah Lakes Crime Manager, Detective Inspector David Waddell, said he held "serious concerns" for Leisl's welfare.
"Leisl's disappearance is out of character and investigators are treating it as suspicious," Det Insp Waddell said.
"We believe Leisl was in contact with this man the day she disappeared and we hope he may be able to help us put the pieces of this puzzle together."
The search continued on Friday night.
