NSW motorists cause congestion on Pacific Hwy

HOLIDAY traffic was banked up for up to 2kms along various sections of the Pacific Hwy late yesterday as NSW drivers headed home from long weekend breaks.

Congestion was heaviest in southbound lanes near Bulahdelah.

Police urged drivers not to become long weekend statistic.

Since Friday, six people have been killed and more than 60 crashes reported across NSW.

Highway patrol officers were out in force amid the threat of double demerit points.
