NSW child abuse squad arrests man on baby battery charge

A MAN has been charged over the protracted battery of a baby girl in Sydney.

An eight-month-old baby was treated for heart and brain damage and multiple fractures to her ribs, arm and wrist at the Sydney Children's Hospital in September.

Investigating officers from the state's child abuse squad arrested a 32-year-old man in his home on Thursday.

He was charged with four counts of grievous bodily harm with intent and refused bail.
