No steps move praised

DENIS Magnay is pleased Ballina Shire Council last week rescinded a decision to put steps on the planned Coastal Recreational Pathway at Skennars Head.

The president of the Northern Beaches Users Club said he didn't want to see steps anywhere on the pathway, which will one day extend from Ballina to Lennox Head.

He said steps would eliminate anyone "on wheels" using the pathway.

"And council's resolution was to make a path that is suitable for as many people as possible," he said.

Meanwhile, the council then decided to "endorse, for the segment of the Coastal Recreational Path from Sharpes Beach underpass to Boulder Beach, the use of consolidated gravel or similar treatment, at natural grade".
