No place like home for Kansas City Royals

EVERYTHING and everyone - except for their own fans - is against the San Francisco Giants as the World Series goes into a Game 7 today at Kansas City's Kauffman Stadium.

The Royals set up a decider with a 10-0 win in game six thanks mainly to a seven-inning shutout from pitcher Yordano Ventura.

It was the largest World Series shutout margin since the Royals beat the Cardinals, 11-0 in Game 7 in 1985.

Coincidentally that was the last time the Royals won the World Series and the stats all point to Kansas ending that drought.

Beginning with the 1982 World Series in St Louis, home teams are 9-0 in the Game 7s.

The last road team to win a Game 7 was the 1979 Pittsburgh Pirates, who beat the Orioles at the old Memorial Stadium in Baltimore.
