THERE will be no public holiday on Monday for Anzac Day this year.

The annual day for remembrance, held on April 25, falls on a Saturday.

The Holidays Act provides for an extra public holiday to be added when Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Year's Day falls on a weekend, but not Anzac Day.

Western Australia is the only state observing a public holiday on Monday for Anzac Day.

Australia is this year marking 100 years since the Anzac Day landing.
