Nicholls gets grilling over Qld budget cuts

QUEENSLAND Treasurer Tim Nicholls says the State Government needs to hold its nerve on budget cuts.

Mr Nicholls has been criticised for axing jobs and services on ABC TVs Q&A program last night.

But he says the Government needed to show leadership.

"I believe that we've done the right thing 0 that you've needed some fairly firm hands on the tiller and people with the resolve to see it through," he said.

"The worst thing would be to lose your nerve and back away from it if you believe you've made the decision in the first place.
