BALLINA Hotel is set for a revamp with new management who are eager to bring out the venue's full potential with a "clean, safe and friendly" environment.
New manager Vanessa Fincher said there were a lot of 25 to 35 year olds in Ballina who felt they needed to travel elsewhere for an evening out.
It is this "more mature and well behaved" crowd she is hoping to cater to with a new nightclub to be launched on May 29.
Soul songstress Lisa Hunt will do the honours of performing on the opening night.
Ms Fincher, who has been in hospitality for 30 years, said the hotel would be renamed as part of the revamp that was designed to give a new image.
She said the decision to step into the role of manager was about taking on a challenge.
"I could see so much potential," she said. "I've always been in the (hospitality) industry and done it with passion and I find it very rewarding.
"I treat my venues like children and make everyone feel welcome."
Assistant manager Katie Faber relocated from Port Stephens near Newcastle to work at the hotel.
The hotel is open Monday to Saturday for lunch and dinner with kids eating free Monday to Thursday.
The nightclub will be open Friday and Saturday nights with the possibility of future comedy and open mic nights on Thursday evenings.
Ms Fincher said the menu would still be "pub food" however everything was made fresh on the premises and as many ingredients as possible were sourced locally.
