New boss for Rotary

THE new president of the Rotary Club of Ballina is looking forward to making a difference in the local community.

Jenny Hill, who has been inducted as the club’s 62nd president, has been a partner in a successful window dressing and curtain business in Ballina for many years.

During the past Rotary year, the club gave around $20,000 back to the community, including $7500 to the Ballina Coast Guard Flotilla and $4000 to Australian Seabird Rescue.

Ms Hill said she would continue working with such organisations to help ensure that Rotary maintained the ‘kind of neighbourhood feel that make this area so special’.

She is also focused on raising awareness of Rotary in the local community.

“Our friends in Ballina have been so supportive of our projects such as the Great Duck Race, the Bookfest and our annual golf day that they deserve to see where their dollars go,” she said.
