VIDEO: Frightening footage of a driver narrowly missing an oncoming car has been captured on camera by a tow company vehicle.

The Sunshine Coast-based Clayton's Towing service took to its Facebook page on Wednesday morning to share footage taken by its Mega Tow as it headed down Maleny-Landsborough Rd about 7.40pm the night before.

"Tow truck was doing 60 kph and hit brakes to let car in," the Facebook post read, linking to video footage.

"Tow truck caught up with car in Landsborough. Rego details and footage being forwarded to police.

"If you were the car coming up the hill call Clayton's so they can forward a police report number to you.

"If you were the car overtaking, your a twit, and will kill someone with these driving habits."
