Nat candidate Adam Marshall sworn into NSW Parliament

THE Nationals candidate who won the NSW Northern Tablelands seat vacated by Independent MP Richard Torbay on the weekend has been sworn into parliament.

Adam Marshall secured the O'Farrell government's 70th seat in the NSW Lower House after scoring more than 60% of the vote in Saturday's by-election.

Mr Torbay is under investigation by the corruption watchdog over undisclosed connections to former Labor powerbroker Eddie Obeid.

He resigned in March.
