Mum tells of the day daughter, 10, revealed sexual abuse
THE mother of a girl allegedly abused in a greyhound kennel has told of the moment her daughter revealed the extent of the sexual abuse.
Churchable greyhound trainer Richard William Fall, 45, pleaded not guilty this week in Ipswich District Court to five child sex offences, including rape.
The offences against the girl 10, who cannot be named for legal reasons, allegedly took place between February and May, 2014.
The girl's mother told the court on Tuesday she was first made aware something was amiss in May last year.
She said she took her daughter into her bedroom and asked her if Mr Fall had done anything inappropriate to her.
"I sat her down on the bed and asked her if Richard had touched, or attempted to touch her, in places she was not comfortable with," she said.
"At first she said no, but I could see she was nervous and I told her to tell the truth because she was not in any trouble.
"She said Richard had kissed her."
The mother told the court she drew a human body on a piece of paper and asked her daughter to circle the places Mr Fall had touched her.
The diagram the girl drew was tendered into evidence.
"I looked at the piece of paper and immediately broke down crying," she said.
"I gave her a big hug and immediately called police."
The trial before Judge Sarah Bradley continues.
