Mullum twins head to top of international Iggy Azalea comp

MULLUMBIMBY-raised rapper Iggy Azalea is not the only local to make waves in the international music scene.

Mullum-based twin sisters No Frills Twins (Vanessa and Arna Rogers) have made the top five for entries in an international search for the best cover of Iggy's single Fancy, in a competition organised by US TV presenter Ryan Seacrest.

On his website, Seacrest has listed 13 videos of covers of the song, with the local sisters currently on fourth position with 8.82% of the votes.

"We found 13 of the best cover artists who covered the sassy single, and we need your help to crown the best rendition of the Australian rapper's hit track," the website reads.

In their video submission, the sisters - who grew up in Lismore - pay tribute to Azalea and mention that "she grew up in the same town we live in now".

Fans are allowed to vote every 12 hours.

Only the top 12 cover artists with the most votes will move on to Round 2, which kicks off next Tuesday, July 22 (US time)
