MP wants Clive Palmer 'detached' from the Sunshine Coast

INCOMING Fairfax MP Ted O'Brien wants Clive Palmer "detached" from the Sunshine Coast so the region can have a new "brand".

At the recent federal election,  Mr O'Brien won the seat of Fairfax that was formerly held by Mr Palmer.

"We need to adjust our profile, change our branding," the Liberal MP told a media outlet.

"Because unfortunately our branding has been so tied up with Clive Palmer.

"The time that I spent outside the Sunshine Coast, that I have spent interstate - you say 'the coast' and they say ... 'Oh, Clive Palmer'.

"This now creates an opportunity for us to detach our brand from Clive Palmer." - ARM NEWSDESK
