Motorcyclist loses part of leg and arm after collision

UPDATE MONDAY: A MOTORBIKE rider lost part of his right arm and his right leg after a crash near Whiporie yesterday afternoon.

The man, believed to be in his 50s, last night remained in a critical condition after being injured when his motorbike and another vehicle collided on Summerland Way at Whiporie, between Casino and Grafton.

A NSW Ambulance spokesperson said emergency services were called to the scene at 2pm.

The man was treated at the scene for significant head, arm and leg injuries before being airlifted to the Gold Coast Hospital.

The Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter landed at the site just after 3pm.

A Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter spokesman said due to the weather conditions, the helicopter would fly low via the coastline.

Summerland Way was closed in both directions following the crash.

 

INITIAL REPORT: A MALE motorcyclist has lost a part of his right arm and leg following a collision with another vehicle on Summerland Way in Whiporie, between Casino and Grafton. 

He is currently being treated on scene for significant head, arm and leg injuries.

A NSW Ambulance spokesperson said emergency services were called to the job at 2pm. 

Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter are looking for a landing site.
