More than 500 to line up for Ballina Lions Fun Run-Walk

JOHN Grant is pleased with the number of entrants coming in for this year's Ballina Lions Fun Run-Walk to be held on Sunday.

The organiser of the event said he expects lots more entries on the day as well.

This is the eighth annual fun run-walk.

In previous years, the event has attracted more than 500 entrants, though entries last year were down on that because of poor weather.

And all those runners and walkers don't get around the course without the efforts of the Lions who volunteer their time to marshal the entrants and staff drink stations.

The fun run-walk will start and finish at Ballina's Missingham Park. There will be 5km and 10km running events in various age categories, as well as the 5km walk.

Marshalling is from 8am and the events start at 9am.

If you want to enter early, entry forms are available at The Athletes Foot in Ballina Central, Southern Cross Credit Union in Ballina Fair, Soul Pattinson Chemist in River St, Ballina, and Ballina Newsagency in River St, Ballina.
