BARELY three days old, baby Sukey is an udder bundle of joy.

She is the latest addition to the family at Maleny Dairies.

The calf came into the world on Tuesday and is part of the farm's herd of 120 cattle.

She is sitting tight with mum for now, getting to know her new home among the green hills of the hinterland.

Soon Sukey will move to a pen to mingle with the other calves and soak up tummy tickles from farm visitors.

"You never get sick of seeing a calf being born," Maleny Dairies marketing manager Kay Hollyoak said.

Many visitors are "swept away" by farm life when they learn a calf is born at Maleny Dairies almost every week.

Each cow in the 120 head of cattle gives birth each year.

A trip to the farm is on the agenda for many families looking for a green getaway these school holidays.

Maleny Dairies is filling up its booking schedule fast, with residents and visitors eager to take a tour of the 63-year-old farm.

"The kids can learn, they can get hands on and it's just really nice to see the kids interacting and laughing and having a great time," Ms Hollyoak said.

"And the taste testing of the flavoured milk yoghurt is fun at the end, too."
