NO NEW measles cases have been reported in Moranbah after an outbreak was declared earlier this week, a hospital spokeswoman confirmed.

But more may still appear, as the virus has a 10-day incubation period.

Queensland Health was working this week to contact up to 400 people, who may have been exposed while at Moranbah Medical Centre last week.

A nurse was found to have measles, after catching it from a mine worker earlier in May.

The Daily Mercury received an anonymous tip saying the company that employed the miner didn't inform other workers about the measles threat until Thursday.

An Anglo-American spokeswoman confirmed the patient was not one of their employees.

A BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance spokeswoman said they issued health alerts to employees on May 10 and 24.
