CRICKET: Brisbane Heat paceman Alister McDermott may lose his 'Macca' nickname after his side crashed to a 25-run loss against Trinidad and Tobago in its opening Champions League Twenty20 game in India on Sunday night.
McDermott (pictured) was embarrassingly called 'Dylan' by a commentator while on his way to returning his best T20 bowling figures of 4-37, as the West Indian team was restricted to 9-135 in Ranchi.
The Heat was bundled out for 110 in reply, losing its final eight wickets for just 34 runs.
It means the Heat now faces a virtual elimination clash against South African side, the Titans, in Mohali tonight.
Heat captain James Hopes said he was not giving up on the semi-finals.
"We've still got three games to go. We need to win at least two to give us a chance," he said.
Batsman Dom Michael may come into Heat line-up.
The Titans lost their opener against the Chennai Super Kings by four wickets, despite South African AB de Villiers scoring a stunning 77 off 36 balls, including seven sixes and three fours.
