Mannah sings high praise for eager Eels debutant Edwards

EELS co-captain Tim Mannah has sung the praises of debutant Kenny Edwards.

Edwards is poised to step in for Reni Maitua, who has succumbed to an ankle injury, in the second row against the Tigers at Leichhardt Oval tonight.

And Mannah says he won't let the team down.

"We're very confident that Kenny can do a good job," Mannah said.

"He's very excited - he likes singing around training, and he's been singing a bit more this week.

"If I had as good a voice as his, I'd be singing a lot too."

While he's reluctant to sing a few melodies at training, Mannah was quick to sing the praises of the young players coming through at the Eels.

"He (Edwards) played really well in the trial games. And anyone that saw Kelepi (Tanginoa) play on the weekend and Vai (Toutai), I think the coaches have done a really good job to develop the younger players," Mannah said.

"Whether we're missing five senior blokes, everyone in the team's got a job to do."

Mannah was impressed with prop Aaron Woods's form in the Tigers' 28-18 win over Penrith on Sunday, and knows he will be hard to contain again.

"Woodsy was really strong last week, so we've got to make sure we can handle what he throws at us," he said.

Meanwhile, Tigers skipper Robbie Farah's love for the club saw him re-sign for another four years yesterday, despite Wests enduring some on and off-field disappointments over the past 12 months.

"I love the club dearly, and I'll never take for granted the fact I've been given the responsibility of being captain of this club," he said.

"Just because you go through a rough patch doesn't mean you pack your bags and leave."
