Mango avoids council catchers

ANOTHER day, another tale added to the adventures of Mango - the narrative of an abandoned pet that has won the hearts of Wondunna.

Emotion filled Gilston Rd yesterday, as the council dog catchers attempted to drug the dog and end the freedom he has enjoyed for more than two months. While they only wanted to take him off to a vet to be checked and vaccinated, his devoted street neighbours weren't too keen on him getting taken away, especially by the council.

In the end police had to be called to quell the situation as tempers flared. While this was all going on Mango had swallowed the meat laced with tranquiliser and was supposed to fall asleep in 15 minutes.

Two hours later the Houdini of Wondunna was still prancing around well out of arm's reach.

Once again Mango had outsmarted his potential captors. Once again people in the street rejoiced.
