Man takes metal bar to the face during home invasion

A GROUP of men are allegedly behind the serious assault and burglary of a man in his Burleigh Heads home.

Police say around 2:45pm yesterday afternoon four men have forced their way into an Ocean Street residence and hit a 49-year-old man repeatedly in the face with a metal bar. 

They have then taken the man's laptop, mobile phone, and car keys before stealing his car and fleeing.

The injured man was taken to Robina Hospital in a stable condition and with suspected facial fractures. 

One of the men is described as Caucasian in appearance, aged in his late 20s to early 30s with a slim build, blonde hair and a tattoo of the word "loyalty" on the left side of his face. He was wearing a black shirt and shorts.

Another of the men is described as Caucasian in appearance with a large build, short brown hair and wearing similar clothing.

The victim's car is a black 2008 Lexus sedan with registration 314TNR.
