Man found with ice tried to give police false name

A MAN has been arrested after Ballina police located methylamphetamines in his car.

Police allege that at 2am on Sunday morning police saw a vehicle carrying persons known to them.

The vehicle was stopped and a search was carried out.

An amount of methylamphetamines was located inside the vehicle.

A 32-year-old Ballina man was spoken to about the drugs; he has given a false name, but police were familiar with him and arrested him on an outstanding warrant.

Further investigations are being carried out in relation to the drugs
