Man found dead in flood

AN elderly man has been found dead in floodwaters north of Bourke in New South Wales.

Police say farm workers at a property north of the town discovered a vehicle partially submerged in a causeway about 4:00pm (AEDT) yesterday.

The body of the 83-year-old Bourke man, who is understood to be a worker at the farm, was found about 20 metres away.

Police believe the man was swept away when he left his vehicle to get help.
