Man forced to move plane seats for Pauline Hanson

A 23-year-old man was made to give up his seat on a Virgin flight so that Pauline Hanson and her advisor could have extra room.

The man needed that particular seat because of his extra height, reports the NT News

His ticket was switched without explanation by Virgin staff when he boarded the flight.

The Townsville man, who wish to remain anonymous, said he was given a different ticket as he boarded the plane from Townsville to Brisbane on January 12.

"As I entered the plane they changed it," he said.

"After takeoff [Pauline's] manager took my seat so they could have a seat between them for extra room."

"I was pretty upset that there was a spare seat there. It meant that Pauline and her crew's space was prioritised over mine," he said.

Ms Hanson last week made a point of telling the public her travel is done cheaply in the wake of the latest parliamentary expenses scandal.

Ms Hanson's office ignored requests for an explanation of the Virgin issue and has refused to say if the flights were taxpayer or party funded.

A Virgin spokeswoman said a passenger's ticket can be swapped at any time for any reason.
