Man flees from police and paddles out to sea on paddleboard

A MAN has paddled out to sea on his paddleboard after police were called to his residence in Cannonvale.

At midnight police were called to a residence due to a reported domestic dispute.

A police spokesman said the man at the residence fled the scene and grabbed a paddleboard and proceeded to paddle out to sea.

The Whitsunday Water Police were called to find him but were not needed as the man came back to shore willingly.

It is believed he was released from custody after being charged in the early hours of this morning.

He is expected to appear in Proserpine Magistrates Court in the next couple of weeks.
