Man to face trial over Casino king-hit death

ACCUSED king-hit killer Paul Ian Lane has been committed for trial over a deadly fight at Casino in 2012.

The Lennox Head man had allegedly been thrown out of a Casino hotel when he got into a fight which later claimed the life of 52-year-old Peter Morris.

Police will allege CCTV footage captured the moment Lane punched Mr Morris to the side of the face, causing him to hit his head on the road.

Mr Morris died in a Gold Coast hospital.

Lane, who was also 52 at the time of the alleged attack, fronted the NSW Supreme Court on Friday and pleaded not-guilty to murder.

He will stand trial at Coffs Harbour on October 7.
