Sarina man killed after hit by car in Deception Bay

A MACKAY man struck by a car in the Brisbane suburb of Deception Bay has died in hospital.

Police said that at 9.45pm the car, a yellow Holden Commodore station wagon, was travelling west on Thompson Street when it struck a 53-year-old man.

The Sarina man received serious injuries and was treated at the scene before being transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital where he has since passed away.

The driver of the vehicle, a 45-year-old man, and two passengers were not physically injured as a result of the crash.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
