Man, 23, pinned under car after being hit

A 23-year-old man is recovering in hospital after he was struck by a car at Southport on Tuesday night.

The man was walking along Ferry Road about 8.30pm and was crossing the road at Harvest Court when he was struck by a car, pinning him underneath the vehicle.

Emergency services worked to extract the man from under the vehicle.

He was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The 29-year old male driver of the car was not injured in the incident.

Investigations are continuing.
