Emmanuel College students to star in own anti-bullying ad

A GROUP of Northern Rivers' teenagers will star in an anti-bullying television commercial as part of the Inspiring Change Challenge.

The commercial will be based on a winning anti-bullying campaign concept created by The Nightcap Rangers from Emmanuel Anglican College during an inter-schools competition.

Henry Einfeld, Jack Lyndon, Isaac McCliske-Miles, Mackenzie Muller and Aidan Rajaratnam's 'Don't let them fight it alone' concept encourages bystanders to take a stand against bullying.

Lennox Head's Clare Southwell, from the challenge's organiser Third & Public, said Friday's auditions at Lennox Head Community Centre were "fully booked only two days after we announced them".

"We didn't want anyone to miss out so we managed to squeeze everyone in, and I'm so glad we did," she said.

"There was so much talent amongst those who attended. Sadly we can't cast everyone as there just aren't enough parts, but I really want them to know how well they all did. They just blew us away."

The commercial will be filmed in August by photographer Craig Parry and is expected to air on NBN Television in October.

Students who will be under the spotlight include Britney Sanders, who will play the bully, and Nadine Janissen, who will play the victim walking home from school.

Luke Atkinson will take on the role of a skateboarder, while Henry Einfeld, Isaac McCliske-Miles, Aidan Rajaratnam, Aaron Watts and Tianna and Charmian Podesta will play a group of bystanders.
