LNP holding state to ransom: Labor
NSW Labor has accused the Baird government of holding the state to ransom over electricity privatisation.
Shadow health minister Walt Secord said the Coalition's promised hospital upgrades were reliant on asset sales - a tactic he called "plain and simple" blackmail.
"The Liberals and Nationals are trying to blackmail the community into supporting electricity privatisation by extravagant promises," he said.
The Coalition said if re-elected it would increase frontline health staff by 3500 over four years.
Premier Mike Baird committed $500 million to upgrade Sydney's Prince of Wales Hospital and $159 million for medical research.
"The Baird government understands that the best way to put patients first is to employ and retain first-rate staff and provide the funding to deliver the services that patients need," he said.
