Costello and Hockey war over taxes
A STOUSH between former Liberal treasurer Peter Costello and Joe Hockey erupted on Tuesday after Mr Costello accused the government of going back on its promise to create a simpler and fairer tax system.
"'Lower, simpler, fairer' is looking like some kind of morbid joke," Mr Costello wrote in a News Ltd opinion piece.
But Mr Hockey said Mr Costello was wrong.
"Quite frankly I really wish I had the revenue coming into the budget that Peter Costello had when I was a part of his government," Mr Hockey told the ABC.
