Lennox bowlo plans on the move

THE Lennox Head bowling club could be open again by September, according to club president Pip Carter.

The club closed late last year, with Sydney-based Ramsgate Group citing financial difficulties.

But Mr Carter said a constitution for the newly formed Club Lennox Ltd currently is being drawn up.

"Once that is done, we can get our de-amalgamation documents signed," he said.

"We will be asking members to vote in favour of de-amalgamation from Ramsgate."

After that vote has taken place, Mr Carter says the business plan will be submitted to the Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing for approval and then the licenses can be transferred to the new club.

Meanwhile, a fundraising disco will be held on April 12 at the Lennox Head Cultural and Community Centre.

From 5.30pm to 6.30pm young children aged 3 to 7 will have supervised games, dancing and music with the theme "Colours of the Rainbow". At 7pm, children aged 8-12 will have the theme "Craziest Hair". The final group for ages 13-18 will follow with the theme "Beauty or the Geek".
