Bachelor's Louise Pillidge has Laser love affair

BRISBANE-based events planner Louise Pillidge was one of three women hoping to win the heart of The Bachelor this week.

As the reality dating show entered its final week, Pillidge was the dark horse of the competition for Blake Garvey's affections, flying under the radar until just recently.

Pillidge has been nicknamed the "Stepford wife" by her fellow bachelorettes because of her all-round appeal as a sophisticated professional woman who also loves to bake.

What was your first car?

I had a Ford Laser, '94 purple-blue. I drove it all the way from Jindabyne to Lismore and I had it there for two years when I was studying there. It had a couple of bangs on it, of course, as my first car and me trying to parallel park. I had it for seven years and I cried when I sold it. It had been through so much with me.

What car did your family have while you were growing up?

The first car I remember was a Mitsubishi Pajero. It was maroon but I have no idea what year it was. When we moved from Sydney to Jindabyne we did a lot of trips in it, so I hated having to be in a car for five hours.

What are you driving now, and what do you love and hate about it?

I now drive a 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer. I chose it because it was a sleek design and it was reliable. It gets me from A to B and it was a car that fit within my budget. It's gunmetal grey, which stands out but you can't tell when it's a bit dirty. The thing I hate about it is it doesn't have leather seats.

What is your greatest frustration on the road?

People who don't indicate - that irritates me.

Do you have any preferred driving music?

Beyonce. Love Beyonce.

If you were to pick anyone in the world to go on a road trip, who would it be?

I would take (fellow bachelorettes) Sam and Lisa. They are just fun, lovely girls. They are hilarious, so witty and would make light of any situation.

What is your dream car?

Something with an "L" to keep the theme going. L - Lexus! It would definitely have to be a convertible, with black or red leather seats, just to change it up a little.
