Lachlan waiting for call

LACHLAN Keeffe could notch up 12 games for Collingwood when his team takes on the Brisbane Lions this Saturday at the Gabba.

Friends and fans from Gympie are expected to cheer on their favourite player in Brisbane, if he is announced in the line-up.

Lachlan's dad Matt Keeffe said the whole family would head down to watch him play.

"He's been making surprising progress, he's been steady as and benefiting from every game," Keeffe said.

"There's a fair crew going from Gympie, including mates he used to go to school with. The coaching staff are happy with him, his mistakes have been minimal." The Keeffe's hope to catch up after the game.

Keeffe, 23, has been playing a key position in the back since his on-field debut in 2011 against North Melbourne. The team list is expected to be announced by today.

The Game: Brisbane Lions v Collingwood, 7.40pm Saturday, May 12.
