Labor's Eddie Obeid, Joe Tripodi face charges

CRIMINAL charges have been recommended against former NSW Labor powerbroker Eddie Obeid and former Minister Joe Tripodi after the corruption watchdog found them guilty of using their positions to rig retail leases at Sydney's Circular Quay.

Corruption findings were also made against Steve Dunn, a former deputy chief and property division head of the Maritime Authority of NSW.

The three are alleged to have influenced the awarding of leases to companies linked to Mr Obeid's family.

ICAC also found Mr Obeid misused his position as a longstanding Labor MLC to benefit his family's financial interests by influencing the granting of water licences at Cherrydale Park, in the Bylong Valley.
