Labor denies feeding fears about future of NDIS

LABOR is feeding fears of a potential sell-off of the National Disability Insurance Scheme, with Opposition Leader Bill Shorten saying such an idea was "crazy".

Mr Shorten made the comment on Thursday, after the Abbott Government's Commission of Audit confirmed there were "no no go areas" of public spending from its review.

He said the government needed to stick to what it said before the election, referring to the bipartisan support of the NDIS in the previous parliament.

But the government has not indicated it would consider the privatisation of the scheme, even if the proposal comes before the Audit.
