Kids’ book sale

IF THE kids are starting to get bored midway through their holidays, the Friends of Ballina Shire Libraries are your friend.

The Friends are holding a children's book sale in the Richmond Room, at the rear of Ballina's River St library, in Regatta Ave, on Friday, January 11, from 9am to 2pm.

The books will be sold for 50c or less.

Sale co-ordinator Janelle Moss said about five children's book sales had been held in recent years to clear the shelves of donated books, and they had proved popular.

The tip is to get in early for the popular children's book sale.

Meanwhile, the Richmond-Tweed Regional Library's Summer Reading Club, encouraging children to read, is in full swing.

By signing up to the club, kids get an activity pack, and log the number of books they have read. See the staff at Ballina library for more details.
